Wow, this is the first post on my new blog! If you want to know a little more about me, check out the About Me page. In this post, I’d like to share with you my goals for this blog.

My name is Daniel, and I’m the writer behind Daniel En Route. First, I want to say that I’m no professional writer. I’m just a 22 year old who has a passion for travel and thinks writing is fun. My posts might not be the most fancy, the most technical, or the most well-written pieces of work, but I promise you that they’ll be real. If there’s something I really enjoyed, I’ll tell you. If there’s something that I didn’t really enjoy, I’ll still tell you. I’m not an influencer getting paid to tell you how great everything is (well, maybe not yet), so I want my writing to reflect my true opinions. These are simply my stories and guides for all of the cool places I’ve visited across the world.

Now, let’s talk about the good stuff. Many of my posts will be sharing my experiences in different countries and cities. I’ll talk about where I went and what I did, and maybe even what I ate. Most of these posts can act as itineraries, so that others can have the same incredible experiences I had, but without the hassle of planning everything. I, however, LOVE planning all of the little details and logistics of trips, so let me know if you ever need any help!

A lot of my posts will be about my time studying abroad in Granada, Spain. During that semester, I traveled all over southern Spain and went to 5 other countries, as well. I’ll write about other past trips to Mexico, Israel, the Caribbean, the Grand Canyon, and more, so stay tuned! I also want to mix in some professional pieces here and there. This includes the types of articles you’d see on Travel + Leisure, Condé Nast Traveler, or Lonely Planet that aren’t necessarily about my personal experiences, but about general travel trends.

You can see the map below showing all of the different countries and US states I’ve been to, and clicking on a country/state will bring you directly to my posts about that place. If nothing shows up, that just means I’m in the process of writing about it! My goal is to post at least once per week over the next year, and by then I hope to have visited even more countries and US states! I’ve wanted to create this blog for a while now, and I’m really excited to see where this journey will take me. Thanks for reading, and I hope that you’ll continue to follow along!
